The Facts

Prostate Cancer affects more than a quarter million men in the USA every year.

One out of ten of these men will die from prostate cancer.

Widespread screening has been cited to cause over diagnosis of the disease.

The majority of these men will survive the disease regardless of treatment.

The Challenges

The treatment options available for early stage organ-confined and low risk prostate cancer have been controversial.

A substantial number of men diagnosed with prostate cancer are over treated.

The current treatment options; including radical prostatectomy and radiation therapy are associated with significant long term side effects.
